What Happened When We Shared Our Faith Story

I'm sharing this not because I want sympathy, but because you need to know what's happening.

Just over two weeks ago, I published a blog post on our website. It was about how God sustained our family through the darkest season of our lives.

My husband dedicated 20 years of his life serving our country - military service, government contract work, and the FBI. When he blew the whistle on corrupt behavior at the FBI, they suspended him and revoked his security clearance. He testified before Congress twice about what he witnessed - a portion of his second testimony went viral.

For nearly three years, we had no paycheck. No income. No health insurance. Everything falling apart around us.

Friends we thought would stand with us didn't. To this day, we're still fighting to keep our house. Even though my husband eventually got his clearance back and his name cleared, he's now persona non grata with any intelligence service. He's been blackballed. Too "radioactive" for anyone to hire, even for jobs paying half what he made before. The clearance is worthless. He did nothing wrong, but his career is destroyed.

This is what happens when you tell the truth. The system punishes you. People are too afraid to stand with you. And you're left fighting alone - not because your country abandoned you, but because fear controls too many people who know better.

Here's what really happened: They revoked his clearance - unprecedented to restore it, but they eventually did. Why? Because they knew they were wrong and that had been exposed. But even knowing that, we had to fight for them to correct it. During those three years, Marcus needed approval for outside employment just to support our family. His requests were ignored. The cruelty wasn't just the suspension - it was the deliberate, ongoing punishment even after they knew the truth.

We're supposed to be grateful they "gave back" what they never should have taken. That's not justice. That's control.

Some people heard he received a "settlement" and assume that means we're fine now. The reality? He only received his backpay - the wages he should have earned during those three years of suspension. After taxes and three years of accumulated debt, it didn't go far. He destroyed his career for principle, not profit. There was no earthly gain - only the knowledge that he did the right thing.

In those quiet, desperate moments, I started Winnowing Fan. Not to get rich. To share the Gospel. To help people show their faith. And honestly? To try to put food on the table and pay some bills.

This little business was born from prayer and hardship. It's a modest lifeline.

On February 2nd, I published our testimony - "Why "Winnowing Fan" Was Chosen as Our Name." It explained all of this. How God was faithful when everything else fell away. How He showed us what really matters: right worship and bringing souls back to Him.

I shared it on social media on February 3rd.

By February 4th, our website traffic had dropped 97%.

Look at this graph. You can see the exact moment it happened. We went from 150-200 visitors a day to barely anything. For more than two weeks now, it's stayed suppressed.

We're not a big corporation. We're a small, faith-based, veteran-owned business just trying to survive. Those 150 daily visitors were sorely needed. They were how we were slowly, carefully building something that could sustain our family.

No warnings. No violations. We checked everything - no technical issues, no security flags, nothing. The only thing that changed was sharing our faith story and mentioning what the FBI did to us.

I'm not telling you this for pity. I'm telling you this as a warning.

If you're a Christian business owner, if you share your faith publicly, if you speak truth about corruption or injustice - this could happen to you too. The algorithms don't care about your intent. They care about control.

What they want is for us to be silent. To self-censor. To keep our faith private and our testimonies hidden.

But here's what they don't understand: We've already been through the fire. We've already lost nearly everything. We know what matters - and it's not traffic or sales or earthly success.

It's faithfulness. It's witness. It's refusing to be silent about God's goodness, no matter the cost.

So I'm sharing our story not because I need you to fix it, but because you need to see it. This is the reality we're living in. And if it can happen to us, it can happen to you.

Be wise. Be prepared. And above all, don't be afraid.

"But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the polluted... their lot shall be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone" (Rev 21:8). Cowardice is listed alongside murder and sorcery. Courage is a duty.

And if you believe Christians shouldn't be punished for sharing their faith, share this post. Let people see what's happening.

We're not backing down. Even if we don't make a penny from this business, we won't stop. The winnowing fan is in His hand, and we won't be silenced about God's faithfulness.

If you've ever felt like you're being sifted like wheat, please know you're not alone.
